Greg MacLeod - Principal & senior teacher
Greg graduated from the Dunedin College of Education in 2002 with a Bachelor of Education in Teaching, Primary. He has taught in a variety of settings, including intermediates and high school. He has a flair for the arts and outside of school enjoys performing in musical theatre. In 2012, after a few years of part-time study at the University of Otago, they awarded Greg with a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (Endorsed in Information and Communication Technology). Greg enjoys leading and teaching at Broad Bay School and loves the focus that the community has on the environment. His family is also involved in education, his daughter teaches in a secondary school in London and his wife is principal at Dunedin North Intermediate School. Greg also has two boys (10 and 16) who attend Anderson's Bay and Bayfield High School.

Tabitha Bettis - Junior teacher
Tabitha joined the Broad Bay team in 2015 and she really enjoys being a part of a supportive community. Tabitha is an experienced teacher and she began her career in 2002. She has also taught overseas in the United Kingdom for 8 years. Tabitha is passionate about teaching, having taught all age groups within primary and now focusing on the early years within the school. She has a special interest in music and maths and has taught ALiM (accelerated learning in maths) throughout the school for two years. She loves spending time with her family & pets, craft making and playing music. Tabitha can often be found performing with her band at various social events plus enjoying walks, going to the beach and having fun with her family.

Paula Bisset - Middle teacher
This is Paula's 10th year teaching at Broad Bay School. She teaches year 3 and 4 and year 1 and 2 on a Friday and Tuesday afternoon. She
is a strong believer in creativity and providing opportunities for children to explore and develop their creative talents. She has
recently completed her Post Graduate in Teaching Diploma focussing on literacy and in particular reluctant writers. She loves to
teach art and the Enviroschools programme. Out of school, she loves gardening, cooking and catching up with friends, and spending time with her girls.







Philippa Goodwin - Teacher Aide
Ann Smales - Senior teacher
This is Ann's first year at Broad Bay School teaching years 5-8. She is a firm believer in student agency and "like's to provide an environment where students question and explore issues for themselves".
She is of Ngāti Kahu decent and has a background in professional theatre. Fluent in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL), she is particularly passionate about teaching NZSL; Deaf culture, as well as
Drama, Te ao Māori, Oral Language and Robotics. When she is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her family or pursuing some of her other interests such as cake decorating, chocolate making, flax weaving, and mosaics. Her long-term goal is to complete a PhD focussing on Deaf education.
