After careful consideration, the difficult decision has been made to cancel Rummage ‘21 - instead, Friends of Broad Bay School will be holding a plant sell-off.
Given the circumstances we find ourselves in with Covid-19, it would not have be wise to run our annual fundraiser/community event in its usual form. While this is disappointing, we must of course prioritise the health and safety of our tamariki and our wider community.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our wonderful extended community for all of your support towards our annual fundraising efforts. Your support takes many forms, from encouraging words, to donated books, hours of volunteer work, shopping from our merchandise range, and many other things large and small.
We are lucky that we are able to store the books until such time as we can safely put together an appropriate alternative for selling them. Plants, however, can not be put into storage. To make sure that our thousands of plants do not go to waste, our community fundraising group, Friends of Broad Bay School (FBBS), are holding a Plant Sell-Off.
Please note, this is not a school event - rather, the Plant Sell-Off will be held at Broad Bay Beach, from 1pm - 8pm on Thursday 28th October. Eftpos will be available, and food trucks will be in attendance. There is also potential for a second sell-off on Sunday October 31st if we still have plants left after Thursday.
Level 2 precautions will be taken, including mask wearing, signing/scanning in, contactless payments whenever possible, safe distancing, and hand sanitiser use.
